Reading Nonfiction Text
70% of your Kansas State Reading Assessment will be nonfiction text. We will focus on both expository and technical writing in our seventh grade reading class.
We will be reading this nonfiction text together in class, discussing what makes this text nonfiction, and why understanding the text features helps us to better understand the information given. Students will complete the unit by taking the Accelerated Reader quiz.
1. (Wednesday) Click on this Quia link to take a pretest on Text Features to see what you already know about these tools when reading nonfiction text. Remember the prefix "pre" means "before" so this is NOT for a real grade.
